The Church Administrator’s role is complex, confusing, and unique. Expectations can be unrealistic and everything but (and?) the kitchen sink can be tossed into the job description. For February’s gathering (February 20), we’ll take time to examine our roles from the balcony, if you will. We’ll think about what boundaries and expectations need to be set so that we stand the best chance of doing our jobs well. With any luck, all of that will lead to feelings of increased resilience and job satisfaction!
Our presenter is Deacon Mary Kay DuChene (ELCA-ordained). Mary Kay is one of the Co-Directors at LeaderWise, a para-church non-profit that accompanies congregations and faith leaders in a myriad of ways. Earlier in her ministry career, Mary Kay was the Director of Operations at a large ELCA church in the Twin Cities, so she knows your job well – she has sat in your seat. She sees us!
